DIY 4th of July shirts… Part Two!

Hi Friends,

As I mentioned before I could not decide what shirt to make for a my 4th of July outfit, so I made a bunch.  I split it up into two posts, You can check out part one, with my DIY pocket t-shirts, here… DIY 4th of July Shirts… Part one!

For these shirts I used my handy dandy Cricut. I love my Cricut so much and I use it all the time. Whether it’s Disney crafting, making party decorations or just making a fun shirt to wear, you can pretty much bet i used my Cricut for the project! It’s so easy to use and with Design Space you can try soooo many different things before you make a decision on your final design. I had about 20 designs ready to go for my 4th of July shirts before I narrowed it down to these three. I had to get my entire family’s opinion because I loved them all! But in the end these were my final choice.

Supplies needed:

  • Cricut
  • Iron on (I used Cricut brand and Siser Brand)
  • Iron
  • cotton T-shirt or tank top
  • Cricut Design Space

Step One

  • Design your image in Design Space. I kept Mine strictly red, white, blue and silver but you can use whatever colors you already have or like for he project you’re making. Here is one of my designs for you to use… DIY Cricut Fourth of July Image

Step Two

  • Cut out and weed the images using your Cricut cutting machine with whatever color vinyl you want. For mine I used a combination of Siser Easy weed heat transfer vinyl, Cricut iron-on lite, Cricut iron-on glitter, and Cricut iron-on Foil.

Step Three

  • Iron your shirt so there aren’t any wrinkles where you’re adding the image. Then, following the instructions on the packaging, Iron on your image one layer at a time. Make sure your foil or glitter layer is the last/top layer you iron-on to your shirt!

That’s it! Now you have a fun patriotic shirt to wear! I can’t wait for the 4th of July to wear my new shirt with my DIY flower crown. You can find the post for that here: 4th of July Flower Crown!

I hope everyone is having as much fun preparing for this holiday as much as I am! Until next time…..
