Winnie the Pooh Baby Shower!

Hi Friends,

When my friend Dena asked my sister and I to plan her  baby shower of course we said YES! I love planning any sort of party or event, and when she mentioned a Winnie the Pooh theme I was even more excited! Being the Disney obsessed crafty girl I am, I knew I could do so many great things for this! So I immediately went to the drawing board and  started planning. First we had to find somewhere to host the party at and with the theme, a gazebo at a nearby park was the perfect setting! Of course Winnie the Pooh is such a great theme, you can have it anywhere and it would be so dang cute! We also knew there weren’t going to be a lot of people there because her family lives out of state, so finding a park that wasn’t too big or too small was lucky. We had about three months to plan this shower which was so nice, to have all that time to craft and find good sales on the party supplies.

The mother to be wanted to keep things simple. NO GAMES! Which was fine with me because I think baby shower games are the worst! So we went with small activities that the guests could do. We did a decorate a block station, which was a hit with the kids at the party! I found already cut blocks on Amazon for $10 but you can also go to any home improvement store and buy a board and ask them to cut it for you. We used non toxic markers on the blocks and it was so easy to throw together.  Also an advice station, where people could fill out cards with advice for the mother to be and add wishes for the baby. We found bee shaped cards and the clothes pins (to hang them on the kite line) at the dollar store.

We knew we wanted our friend to have something to remember her shower. So instead of a regular guest book we decided to have people leave their thumbprints on a canvas. They used yellow ink for their thumbprints and after the party I turned the prints into bees. I Found the canvas at Michaels and I painted the “Hunny” pot on there. I took one of the many amazing Pooh quotes and hand lettered it at the top of the canvas. Of course I forgot to get a picture of the finished canvas…. but trust me, it was so cute!

I think the food table was my favorite! I already had the giant frame and the gold wire tree. I found the picture ,that’s in the frame, online and just printed it across 4 papers and glued it together. You can do that by going to your printer settings. The bird house, inside the wire tree, I found at Michaels for $1 and painted it to look like Owl’s tree house. The “Hunny” pot cupcake towers are just plain Terra Cotta pots that I painted.

For the Gifts table we kept it really simple. I made a gifts Banner on my Cricut. I also made the Book Banner we had hanging above the table. I printed pictures of Classic Pooh scenes and cut them into Book Shapes. It turned out perfect and so cute!

We only had two tables for people to sit at. So we didn’t have to deal with a ton of centerpieces. We got the buckets at Target in the Dollar Spot and the Flowers are actually fake. We got them on super sale at Michaels and now I have them and I can re-purpose them and craft with them!

Finally I didn’t want the guests to leave empty handed. I decided with the Pooh theme and Spring upon us, that flower seeds would be a cute idea. We found all of the flower seeds for $1 at target. I designed and printed the seed covers and stapled them on, SO EASY and inexpensive!

I hope this gives some of you ideas for an upcoming party you’re planning! Until Next time friends!

Hi, I used 8in pots from Michaels and round plastic clear trays from Dollar Tree (no clue what size, they only have one round tray in the store near me) and painted the bottom of them to make them yellow! Thanks for checking out my post!
