Bullet Journal Supplies!

Hi Friends,

Today I have finally gotten myself together enough to tell you about all of the supplies I use for my Bullet Journal. Now this collection grows all the time…. I have a huge lists of new pens and notebooks I want to try.

I only started using a Bullet Journal about a year ago and I am so happy I made the transition from regular day planners. I love being about the be creative and make my spreads look any way I feel like at the time as well as customizing it to what I need and actually use. I use my journal every day, which means I can go through a lot of pens and markers. I had the giant pack of Crayola Super Tips once upon a time and they all started to run out!  Right now my collection is on the smaller side compared to some Journalists out there but I love all of my pens for different reasons and use them for different things!

Journal

I only have one journal at the moment. I like to stick with one that I use all the time so all my information is in one space. I use the Scribbles That Matter Journal. I got my pink one on Amazon for $20 and it is worth every penny. I changed to it at the beginning of year for a fresh start. Last year I used the Artist Loft dot journal from Michaels for $5. It was a great starter journal and I highly recommend it. This year I wanted something a bit more sturdy. The Scribbles That Matter has thicker pages that are more white than cream colored. It has an elastic cord around the journal to keep it closed at all times and two ribbon book marks. Mine also came with an attachable pen elastic but I don’t use it. Honestly it would probably just get ripped off in my purse.

Pens

I love to try different pens! So far I think my favorite are the Kelly Creates Fine liners and the Pentel touch brush pens. That being said I use so many different types in my bullet every month/week.

  • Kelly creates Black Fine Liners– These are the only fine liners I use. They come in a 5 pack with .005, 01, 03, 05, 08 and 10 and I use most of them every week!
  • Kelly Creates Dream Pens– These were my first brush pens. They are Dual tip with a large brush pen on one end and thin on the other. I like the thing= side the best. The colors are so vibrant. particularly the yellow is the best one I have found.
  • Kelly Creates Multi color Brush Pens- These are great for smaller brush lettering since they are small brush pens. I use them for small titles or accents. The colors are beautiful but not the run of the mil primary colors which i love because i have other pens in the regular colors.
  • Kelly Creates black brush Pens- these were my first black brush pens and I used them for everything in my Journal when I first started out. Now that I have more of a collection I use colors and different pens but I still use these whenever I need black brush lettering. It comes in a three pack with a fine tip, medium tip and large tip. They write so smoothly. Love them!
  • Kelly creates Metallic Jewel Brush Pens- These are Large brush pens but probably my favorite in my collection. I don’t use them every week or even every month but they really add an element of elegance which I love!!!
  • Pentel Touch Brush Pens– I got these for Christmas and became quickly obsessed with the bright colors and they write so smoothly. I probably use these the most in my bullet journal right now.
  • Recollections Metallic Pens- I got these on clearance at Michaels and I love these metallic pens. They do tend to leak a bit and they do rub off on the other pages once you close your journal but the metallic ink is just so pretty!
  • Frixion Erasable Pens and Markers- I use these for everything. The markers colors aren’t super vibrant but they erase amazingly! Like I didn’t have anything there in the first place. Same with the pens. I write all my day to day stuff with these pens.
  • Crayola Thin Tip Markers- I mostly just use these for outlining images but there is nothing better than good old faithful Crayola markers.
  • Artist Loft Illustrator Pens- These are great but so ghost and bleed a bit more than my other pens. I usually use them for accents since they are a large brush pen. I tend to use the black one to fill in images and boxes and things like that since the black is so opaque and there were two in the pack.
  • Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Brush Pens- These are so gorgeous but they are very very faint. You can go over it multiple times but it tends to bleed. I don’t use them very often but they really add that extra something when I do.

Tools

  • Washi Tape– Hello, I’m Lulu and I have a Washi tape addiction! HAHA when I can find a good deal I buy, probably, too many! Its the best to cover up mistakes or when i’m feeling lazy and still want my pages to look cute but don’t want to draw anything. I can just add Washi and it makes everything better. Also if you want to stick something into your journal you can use Washi. Endless possibilities!!!
  • Ruler
  • Whiteout Tape
  • Erasers
  • I also use every day objects I have just laying around. For instance, if I need a circle I will use the cup that holds my pens, or a spool of thread. I also have traced images before. My Minnie and Mickey themed cover page was traced from an image I printed out. I am always looking online fro inspiration and quotes to use.
